Your California Privacy Rights

As a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share;

  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions;

  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information;

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;

      • To exercise this right, you may use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” or “Your Privacy Choices” link available on the PRL Site, adjust your cookie preferences where available, email us at [email protected], or call us at 1-800-370-3447. If our website recognizes an opt-out preference signal, including Global Privacy Control, we will treat that signal as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for the browser or device that sends the signal, as required by applicable law.

  • Limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information, if applicable; and

  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

How to Exercise Your Rights. California residents may submit requests to exercise privacy rights by:

  1. emailing us at [email protected];

  2. calling us at 1-800-325-7734; or

  3. using any webform, privacy portal, “Your Privacy Choices,” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link made available on the PRL Site.

We will verify your request as required by applicable law. We will not require verification for opt-out requests unless permitted or required by law. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf if they provide proof of authorization and we can verify your identity or the agent’s authority as required by law.

Appeals and Additional Review. If we deny a privacy request, we will explain the basis for the denial as required by applicable law. Where an appeal right is required by applicable law, you may appeal our decision by contacting us using the contact information in this Privacy Policy and stating that you are appealing a privacy request decision. We will respond to appeals in accordance with applicable law.

Opt-Out Preference Signals. Where required by law, we honor browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device that sends the signal. Because opt-out preference signals are browser- or device-based, you may need to enable the signal separately on each browser or device you use. If you are logged into your PRL account and we can reasonably associate the signal with your account, we may apply the opt-out to the account as required or permitted by applicable law.

Data Retention. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary and proportionate to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. The criteria we use to determine retention periods include the nature of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, the length of our relationship with you, legal and regulatory requirements, tax and accounting obligations, fraud prevention needs, dispute resolution, security, and enforcement of our agreements.

Generally, we retain account and order information for as long as needed to provide products and services and to satisfy legal, tax, accounting, warranty, dispute-resolution, and recordkeeping requirements; marketing information until you opt out or until it is no longer reasonably necessary for marketing purposes; website analytics and cookie information for the period configured in the applicable tool or as otherwise disclosed in our cookie preferences tool; customer service communications for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, improve service, and maintain business records; and security logs for as long as reasonably necessary to protect the PRL Site and investigate suspected fraud, misuse, or security incidents.

Depending on your location, this may require express consent or another legally recognized basis. Each marketing communication will include sender identification and a method to unsubscribe or opt out where required by law. PRL will honor unsubscribe requests in accordance with applicable law.

SMS / Text Messaging Privacy. If you opt in to receive text messages from PRL, we may collect and use your mobile telephone number, SMS opt-in data, SMS consent status, messaging history, delivery status, and related information to provide text messaging services. Depending on the program and your consent, text messages may include marketing messages, promotional messages, abandoned-cart reminders or cart reminders, product information, special offers, account-related messages, order confirmations, order alerts, shipping and delivery alerts, transactional messages, and customer service messages.

We will not share, sell, rent, or disclose your SMS opt-in data, SMS consent status, or mobile telephone number to third parties for purposes unrelated to providing the text messaging service. We may share personal information, including your mobile telephone number, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent status, with service providers, contractors, platform providers, telecommunications providers, wireless carriers, messaging aggregators, and vendors that help us provide, administer, support, or deliver text messages.

You may opt out of marketing text messages at any time by texting STOP to [insert short code or messaging number] or by following the instructions provided in the applicable message. Message and data rates may apply. Your consent to receive marketing text messages is not required as a condition of purchase.

SMS Abandoned Cart Disclosure. The website may use cookies, pixels, tags, web beacons, local storage, session storage, or similar tracking technologies to help keep track of items you place in your shopping cart, including when you have abandoned your cart before completing a purchase. If you have opted in to receive marketing or promotional text messages, PRL may use this cart abandonment information to determine when to send cart reminder messages via SMS, subject to your consent and applicable law.

Access to Personal Information by Companies that Work with or on Behalf of PRL. Some of PRL’s operations, such as our electronic commerce, may be managed by service providers who are unaffiliated with PRL. These companies may have access to your Personal Information on a confidential basis but only to the extent that is necessary for them to perform their functions. We will never authorize these service providers to use your Personal Information for any reason other than to provide you with those specific services.

We require service providers and contractors that process personal information on our behalf to process personal information only for limited and specified purposes, to maintain reasonable safeguards, to assist us with consumer privacy requests where required, and to provide the level of privacy protection required by applicable law. We do not authorize service providers or contractors to sell or share personal information or to retain, use, or disclose personal information outside the scope of our agreements, except as permitted by applicable law.

If your purchases are being shipped to you, your shipping information will be shared with our delivery service providers (such as UPS, the U.S. Postal Service or other delivery companies). Our delivery service providers are asked not to use your Personal Information for any purpose other than making the delivery.

Some of these technologies may be provided by third parties, including analytics, advertising, retargeting, affiliate, social media, or ecommerce partners.

Where required by law, including under California privacy or communications privacy laws, we will provide notice and obtain consent before using technologies that record, intercept, or disclose communications or electronic activity in a manner requiring consent. You can manage certain cookie and tracking preferences through our cookie banner, “Your Privacy Choices” link, browser settings, Global Privacy Control, or other tools made available on the PRL Site. Browser settings may not block all non-cookie tracking technologies.

However, we may collect the IP (Internet protocol) addresses of visitors to our Site and other related information such as page requests, browser type, operating system and average time spent on our Site. We may use this information to monitor and improve our Site.

Advertising, Analytics, and Retargeting Partners. We do not intend to disclose medical information or sensitive health information to advertising partners. PRL should not configure advertising or analytics tools to transmit quiz responses, free-text health information, payment information, account passwords, or other sensitive information to advertising platforms.
